The Space Sciences Group (SSG) is one of four groups at INTERFEROMETRICS.  The sciences of radio astronomy, atmospheric physics and interferometry are at the heart of INTERFEROMETRICS research and development work.  Our personnel have been instrumental in the successful acquisitions of complimentary x-ray satellite observations and the resulting analysis of the data.

INTERFEROMETRICS began as a science-oriented company, using new measurement instrumentation and analytical techniques to investigate the environment on Earth.  In collaboration with scientists and engineers at Government facilities and prestigious scientific organizations both in the United States and abroad, INTERFEROMETRICS provides research and development expertise in the areas of space sciences and remote sensing.

INTERFEROMETRICS’ scientists have observational experience with both optical and radio interferometry telescopes as well as planning and executing of space-based observations.  Our personnel have been instrumental participants in the successful acquisitions of complimentary x-ray satellite observations and the resulting analysis of these data.

INTERFEROMETRICS’ scientists and engineers have participated in nearly all phases of satellite-based experiments that measure the spectral irradiance of the Sun as well as the imaging solar disk and nearby heliosphere.  This work includes fabrication and testing of satellite hardware systems, systems engineering, onboard software systems specification, design and development, ground and satellite operations, and engineering and scientific data analysis.  The imaging observations, in particular, have led to a far greater understanding of the causes and effects of space weather processes including those affecting radio transmission, electric power grids and satellite orbits, the latter through enhanced atmospheric drag.
