Interferometrics seeks qualified candidates for the following position in support of the Department of State. This is a new contract offering longevity and stability, as well as the opportunity to impact mission-critical initiatives. Please note that all candidates must possess Secret clearances active within the past two years, either current or eligible for reinstatement. Experience supporting the Department of State is desired, but not mandatory. Positions are based in Arlington, VA but some travel may be required.
Technical Support Specialist
Position description:
The contractor shall support the operational readiness of SAIT setup/fixes classrooms space at FSI. The Director and Branch Chief/Program managers will assign tasks. These shall include, but not limited to the on-site management of PC’s, Printers, and other information resources in the classroom network. Contractor shall check classrooms PC’s and refresh their hard drives images before the start of every course, or as needed. Monitor the status and location of equipment preparatory for NEPA. Substitute new equipment for old; identify and replace inoperable components. Setup, test, and install software on classroom workstations. Prepare Ghost (or similar imaging software) images of classrooms workstation. Provide technical support to instructors on an as needed.
Certification or Experience to include:
• Hold one of the following current Microsoft Certifications MCP, MCSE or MCSA.
• Should be A+ CompTIA and/or Network Plus CompTIA certified.
• Experience and understanding in conduit layout and duct cabling installation practices and standards desired.
• Experience and understanding in serial and high-speed serial standards desired.
• Experience and understanding in Category 5 / 6 and fiber optic cabling standards desired.
• Experience with telephone, crypto, radio, network, computer and fire codes in relation to standard installation practices and applied standards desired.
• Background, knowledge or experience with the following Communications Systems: Mitel, Nortel-Meridian, Motorola, and Nortel-Norstar desired.
• Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written; must be able to present state of the art installation drawings (i.e. AUTOCAD) and documentation for use within the Department and presentation to other government agencies.
• Special Projects as required, to include but not limited to, attending special seminars and training, to gather information for installation and setup of upgraded and new technology.
• During the performance of the contract, the contractor shall be required to provide professional and/or technical personnel with experience and expertise as described above to complete the upgrade projects.
